Two of Nasa’s spacecrafts are deliberately crash-landed onto the moon’s surface after completing their lunar mission. The spacecrafts, named Ebb and Flow, have been orbiting the surface of the moon since September 2011, mapping the lunar surface. Nasa controllers in California commanded the two spacecraft to de-orbit and hit a mountain near the moon’s north pole. Both were travelling at 3,760mph.
