Elon Musk’s mission to colonize Mars is manifesting into reality with the Starship spacecraft. Starship contains both a Super Heavy rocket, Starship will send people to the Moon, Mars and possibly other planets.
SpaceX has been testing Starship in Boca Chica, Texas and they’ve successfully completed two “hops”. These hops take the rocket 20-150n meters into the air, and back down safely. They demonstrate the rockets reusability, landing and flight capabilities.
We can expect more demonstrations of this huge ship in the future, and hopefully a fully commercial spaceflight to the moon. We’re not sure yet if starship will be taking humans to Mars, but judging from these demonstrations, the landing will be smooth.
