A video being shared online has suggested the US astronaut who spent 340 days on the International Space Station (ISS) – the longest ever stint – was bursting to tell the world about what he saw.
However, it says Mr Kelly let it slip out in a more subtle way because of an alleged cover up by NASA and the US Government.
YouTube channel Paranormal Crucible started the rumour in a video it posted online called ‘Astronaut talks about aliens during interview’.
The narrator of the conspiracy channel’s video points to a comment Mr Kelly made while discussing his body’s response to being in space for so long during an interview.
The video said: “Scott Kelly made two bizarre comments regarding extra terrestrials.
“Although it’s unclear whether Kelly was actually joking or not, it appeared quite strange he would mention the word aliens in response to an important question regarding his mental and physical adjustment in space.”
Mr Kelly said in the interview: “Adjusting to space is easier than adjusting to Earth for me.
“I don’t think I ever felt completely normal up there.
“I think coming back to gravity is harder than leaving gravity, so maybe the aliens got it a lot easier than we do.”
Mr Kelly also talked about a virtual reality game the astronauts played on the ISS which simulated an alien attack on the space station.
He said: “You shoot them with your fingers.
“It did not seem to make anyone sick, it was kind of fun.”
