You’ve almost made it, Astronaut Kelly.
Local spacefarer Scott Kelly is several weeks away from completing his #YearInSpace mission, a task that will let NASA study the effects of long-term space travel. As Kelly counts down the days until his return home, his tweets at times have taken on a saturnine quality. The man sitting in a tin can far above the world seems eager to come home.

Over the weekend, he shared another one of his many gorgeous aerial shots of Texas with the longing caption “Looking forward to seeing you soon.”
He’s tweeted before about how he misses Houston and lounging by the pool and, well, weather and decent food. Not that Kelly regrets his heroic role in the record-breaking space station mission. He’s written many times about what an honor the mission has been. But as Kelly has volunteered to fans “understand a year is a long time.”
The NASA commander will return to Earth on March 2 after launching into space on March 27, 2015.
